AFL Gala Day
There were 24 excited and nervous girls who set off last Friday in chilly but pleasant conditions, to represent St Pat’s at the Girls AFL Gala Day at Beaconhills College in Pakenham.
They played 3 games for the day and, although they did not come away with any wins, learned much about playing footy.
They displayed outstanding team spirit and camaraderie, constantly supporting each other and improving their skills throughout the day.
Many thanks to the girls who spent several lunch times practising their basic kicking and handballing skills, as well as taking time during their holidays to build on these skills when possible.
Many of the girls are already excitedly talking about next year’s event!
Thank you to Mrs Bateson, Ms Mirabella, Mr Hado and Mrs Edwards who accompanied the girls, commenting on their amazing kinship and improved skills on the day.
