Anzac Day Dawn Service
On Tuesday 25th of April our school captains volunteered to bring up a wreath at the Pakenham dawn service that started at 6:00 am and ended at 6:25am. When all of us got there we met up in front of the library entrance. We then saw the wreath that we would be taking up and Mrs couch told us what to do when we walke up with the wreath.
Once the service began, Bagpipes, and drums played. They then acknowledged the traditional owners of our land and later talked about the soldiers and all they sacrificed for us. When it was time for the captains to take up the wreath and represent our school, we were called up. We then placed the wreath on the statue. After the dawn service finished, Mrs Couch and our parents took pictures.
Going to the service made us think of everything the soldiers have done for us. We remember their sacrifice and we remember all of the service men and women who are still serving our country today in order to keep peace and keep our country safe.
