A Message from Mrs Escalante

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

This week, I announced to my staff and the students in Year 6, that Mrs Donna Ward and Mrs Lisa McDonald will be taking over 6RM, formerly Mrs Rosa Mitchell’s class, for the remainder of the school year. Unfortunately, our school has been affected by the teacher shortage issues, however, once again, the staff of St Patrick’s school have stood up and are wanting to support our year 6's, hence the decision that has been made. Our students must be considered in every decision we make, and this last year of their primary school is certainly no exception.

Both Lisa and Donna will still have their other commitments to their other roles with Lisa being the Deputy Principal and Donna our Learning and Teaching Leader. I would like to thank Lisa and Donna for their commitment to our students and their education.

This weekend we are celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with our Year 6's. Today our Year 6 students came together for their Reflection Day. Such a special event for our young leaders of the school. We are also blessed to have Bishop Greg with us today and this weekend to celebrate Confirmation with our students. A big thanks to Noleen Chalmers and the Year 6 teachers for their preparation of the children.

Take care and God Bless

Meg

Girls school uniforms and make up

Please ensure that the girls Winter uniforms are of an appropriate length. Dresses need to be just above the knees. Students will be spoken to if the uniform is deemed to be inappropriate for school. And NO make-up is to be worn. If the girls wish to wear something on their lips, it MUST be a clear gloss and not coloured. It will be confiscated if found and returned at the end of the day.

Just a reminder that school shoes need to be worn and not runners please. We have a second-hand uniform shop that is available to all families if they need. This is open on Thursday afternoons or by appointment. Please contact the office.

Assembly Changes:

Next Friday the 25th August there will be no assembly. This is due to a school camp and our District Athletics that are occurring on the same day.

We will also have no assembly on the 15th September as we will be having our footy parade instead, all families are invited to join in as it will begin at 2:15pm !

If they are younger siblings beginning at St Patrick’s, you do still need to complete an enrolment form. If you know of any families living in our area and looking for a school, please tell them about us. If they wish to make an appointment to have a tour, they can contact the office on 5943 9000 or email us at office@stppakenham.catholic.edu.au

Donations

In order to support our P and F committee, I am asking if there are families and businesses out there who are able to donate items that can be used for future raffles. Not only is this a sign of goodwill and enhance a sense of community, but it will also be great opportunities for your own business to be highlighted at St Patrick’s. If you would like to donate items, please contact the office on 5943 9000 or email office@stppakenham.catholic.edu.au

As always, we appreciate any help that is given to our beautiful school.
