Music - Term 1

As part of their learning about different types of instruments in Music lessons, the Year Twos have been learning about stringed instruments and percussion instruments.  They have had the opportunity to play the ukuleles and hand percussion instruments as part of this learning. The Year Twos have revised the correct way to hold the ukulele and strum the strings, and have also been learning to play three chords on the ukuleles.

The Year Sixes have been performing music on xylophones whilst reading notes from the musical stave. We have focused on rehearsing and performing the theme from “Chess” the musical. The Year Six students have been encouraged to support each other in their attempts to read musical notation from the stave.
