5RM - Poems

5RM have started off the term learning about different types of poems. Here are a few examples the students created:

So you like cars eh?
Well they are just pure blase!
You take it to a part-eh (party)
But why not use a cart, eh?!
by Henry

Summers, Autumns, Winters, Springs
In the spring, birds spread their wings
And in winter leaves all fall
Now you can't go play netball
Then in autumn leaves turn brown
then they crumble when they're down
by Abuk

I went fishing on my boat
then I saw a floating goat
I thought it was such great good luck
As it gave me a nice new buck
then I caught a great big fish
which gave me a great big splish
then the goat ate up my fish
slurping it up like a dish
By James

I once saw Harry Potter.
I've seen him hug an otter.
He then drank from a pot, uh...
Why is he getting hotter?!
By Henry

The ant met a cougar.
Then he ate sugar.
The ant had a big thorax.
He has nothing that he lacks.
He never lost to a foe.
Though he was as big as a toe.
By Kabir

This poem was written by Kuei as part of Year 5 Gold Rush Unit
Life in the diggins was dust and muddy,
People only mined for gold and for money.
Some were successful
Some were not!
Some people even died and got shot.
The point is, their lives were hard.
People missed families and tried to send them a card.
But always after telling about their strife
I think you should learn more about the 'diggers' life.
