Specalist Newsletter

We have many wonderful specialist classes at this school. Tthis week our Year 6 students wrote up all the fun things they have been doing in these classes!

What are Year 6 doing in specialists?

Performing Arts

In Performing Arts we are learning about our Christmas carol Last Christmas. We are also learning about dance moves. We’re also playing games with music to practice Rhythm and that. - Chayse

This term in Performing Arts we have been learning and practicing our Christmas concert song and have been learning about the music notes which are E, G, B, D, F, A, C, E. - Riya

Digi Tech

In Digi Tech, students have been learning the importance of online safety, as well as learning how to use blue-screen technology. - Amber

Visual Arts

In Visual Arts we are drawing and colouring glass windows for our confirmation. We traced over the lines with black marker and once we finished colouring we put oil on the back of the page and it shows the colours from the back and it makes it look really cool. - Archie

PE

In PE we have been learning about and practicing field events and what happened in the paralympics games.  - Riley

Paralympian Visit

On Monday the 14th of October two very special people came to St. Patricks, but they weren’t ordinary people, they were PARALYMPIANS. Maria Strong and Lichelle Hames paid us a visit. - Simran

One of the paralympians did swimming and her name is Lichelle went to the 2004 Olympic Games and came second winning a silver medal for Australia. She started competing when she was just 11 years of age. She did 10 hours of training a week, meaning she did 2 hours of training every morning and went to the gym twice a week. - Rani

Maria went to the paralympics for shot put - Chloe

Mariah said that she competed in Toyko in 2021, and in Paris for the 2024. - Harman
