Grade 5- Life Saving Victoria Incursion
Year 5 and 6 - Life saving incursion
On Thursday 29th of March the Year 5s had an incursion about life saving and the danger of water. First we learnt about what to wear and about the different dangers of the waters and what can be in the water. We learnt about rip currents and sand hills. Also, some kids were picked to close their eyes and have a lucky dip into a bag. There was a teddy bear that we named Bob. We dressed him in sunglasses, sunscreen, a bathing suit and a cap. Bob taught us to slip, slop, slap, slide and seek. Next, we got to do some activities like learning how to use a rescue tube. It was yellow with a red sash connected and only lifesavers wear it. We got to learn how to save people with a cricket bat and other everyday items. We learnt lots of things.
