Gospel of the Week

John 3:13-17

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John

The Son of Man must be lifted up.

Jesus said to Nicodemus:

‘No one has gone up to heaven

except the one who came down from heaven,

the Son of Man who is in heaven;

and the Son of Man must be lifted up

as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert,

so that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.

Yes, God loved the world so much

that he gave his only Son,

so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost

but may have eternal life.

For God sent his Son into the world

not to condemn the world,

but so that through him the world might be saved.’

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

This week, the Gospel tells us the Lord Jesus came to unite earth with heaven and to raise those on earth to the glory of heaven. Jesus explains to Nicodemus, one of the chief leaders of the Jewish nation, that he is the "Son of Man" sent by the Father in heaven to restore our broken relationship with God. Jesus offers grace to the one disciple who would betray Him. He promises the others that their sorrow over His death will turn to joy. He guarantees the indwelling Holy Spirit's presence among them.

Next Term, St Patrick’s will be undergoing a refurbishment of E and B Blocks. As a result, all the grades and speech etc will need to be moved out of E Block by the end of this term. Each of the grades will be allocated to one of the portables. This is listed below. Please ask any of our friendly staff or students if you are not sure where to go.

The classes in B Block will not need to be moved.

Next week will be the final week of Term 3. School finishes on Friday the 19th of September at 2.30pm. Please make sure you add this time to your calendar.

Next Thursday is our annual Footy dress up day where we enjoy hot pies for lunch and have a parade of costumes and celebrate our AFL footy colours. Parents are welcome to attend this parade which is being held next Thursday the 18th in the stadium at 2.00pm. Thanks again to our wonderful P and F committee for getting the pie drive organised. A BIG thanks also goes to them for the work done in preparing our Father’s Day stall and organising the raffle prizes. It was so good to see the look on the children’s faces when they came to receive their raffle prizes on behalf of their dads.

Student Toilets-IMPORTANT

Please remember that under no circumstances are parents, carers or guardians allowed to use the student toilets. If this is happening, you will be approached by a member of staff and asked to leave. If you need to use the toilet, please come to the office. We cannot have adults in the toilet facilities with our children. This is a SERIOUS BREACH of child safety. Thank you for your co-operation.

Building Project

This will begin in Term 4 and the students in Block E will be moved into different rooms for the final term. See below for the list of the new rooms your child will be in:

  • FGW in D9
  • FKG in D10
  • Visual Arts into A5
  • 1AF into A4 (Visual Arts room),
  • 1NC into A3 (Italian room). Italian will occur but it will happen in the student’s classrooms
  • 2WJ into D6
  • 2JM in D8
  • Performing Arts into D3 (next to the uniform shop)
  • Wellbeing room in D7

Please do not hesitate to ask any staff around the school if you are not sure.

The Avenue carpark

As you will have noticed, this has now undergone a major change. The whole carpark is one way only and all angle parking, which means there is NO REVERSE PARKING as well as a crossing from the carpark to the school that all families must use. Thank you to all the parents who have been respectful in understanding when staff have had to speak to them to ensure they are doing the right thing. This change has come about to keep our students, your children safe at ALL times.

There will also be a clear NO CROSSING zone as well which must be obeyed at all times. Please ensure that you continue to follow the rules in the carpark. Thank you.

Preparations for 2026

At St Patrick’s we continue to have school tours coming through for this year and 2027 which is great and next year, we welcome many new families to our community. This term, I will begin planning for 2026. It is during this term that I ask parents to put in writing any issues they would like to raise with me in terms of the new academic year. I wish to make this very clear that requests made by parents

for particular staff etc will NOT be guaranteed. I would like to emphasize that the staff of St Patrick’s do an amazing job and are valuable entities in your child’s education, and I will not entertain any idea of ‘teacher shopping’. As professionals, we base the decisions on your child’s placement very carefully and there is serious consideration put into this each year.

This communication does need to be sent to me by the end of Term 3. Any requests made later than this may not be considered. I appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Thank you and God Bless
Meg
