4T - Haiku Poems
Haiku is a type of Japanese poetry. It is usually about nature. It consists of only 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables; the second line has 7 and the last line has 5 syllables. Here are a few examples.
I flutter around.
First I’m a caterpillar.
My wings have Colours.
I Laugh in the day.
I eat frogs and yummy worms.
I am an Aussie.
I wiggle in ground.
I help loosen up the soil.
I live in ground.

Orange haired monkey,
Found in Indonesia
I’m a ‘jungle man’
Lazy and quiet
I can go in slow motion
I hang in the trees
I’m a type of bird
That can go ‘Too-whit-too-whoo!’
Like cats, I eat rats.
I’m very loyal
Be my best friend forever
I’ll woof happily
I look black and white.
I like eating bamboo, yum!
This thing’s true: I’m cute!
I’m sneaky and sleek
‘I hunt for chickens, watch out!’
I’d say to farmers.
