Kryal Castle  By Apiel    

On Wednesday the 10th November all the year 5’s went to Kryal Castle for camp. We were on the Bus for 3 hours. My favourite part of being at Kryal Castle was when we did Archery,sword fighting,Learning about Armour,when we watched a couple of plays, and the food there was very good. So far Kryal Castle is the best Camp I have ever been to.

On the 10th of November I went to Kryal Castle in ballarat with the rest of the grade 5s for school camp.

On day 1 we travelled to Ballarat on 2 buses and when we got there we had lunch and got our room keys.

Then we had free time.

On day 2 we did lots of physical stuff like sword fighting and siege.

We also did archery and I think I was the only one in our class who didn’t hit the hay at all!

On day 3 we did indoor activities like calligraphy, medieval games and leather work!

I especially loved the medieval game fox and geese!

Then we came home!

At Kryal Castle I had lots of fun and even got to sleep in a suite with Rosaline!

My favourite part was when I saw a smiling goat named Robin Hood!???

I loved camp because I was allowed to learn new stuff that I didn’t know. The Actors at the theatre were so funny.

The plays we performed were amazing. I was scared at the start but when i tried i really enjoyed it a lot.

I especially enjoyed the maze because I loved playing with my friends in it.

A lot of teachers got stuck in it and our shoes got soaked as did our socks and it did not feel nice.

The rooms were amazing. I got to share a room with two of the closest people I know. 

We spent time doing stuff I have never done before. It was the best experience ever.

Grade 5 Camp by Amelia

All of the grade 5s classes went to Kryal Castle for grade 5 camp.

The first thing we did when we got to Kryal Castle was three different activities but I can't quite remember everything we did.Then we had free time to explore the castle and a lot of us went into the maze. We also watch three medieval plays by Kryal Castle's own actors.

The next day  we did 9 different activities separated into three. Then we had free time to explore again, have showers and pack our bags for tomorrow.

Friday was our last day at Kryal Castle, we did three activities. Then we were going to see The Battle Of The Hastings but we had to go home early and weren't able to see it.

All of the grade 5s that went to camp had a great time and enjoyed our trip.

KRYAL CASTLES HISTORY

Kryal Castle was built in 1972, it was opened in 1974 and it's older than most of you, well it’s older than me. Kryal Castle is about 47 years old .

The name Kryal Castle comes from the first initial and surname of its builder, Keith Ryall.

MY FIRST DAY

When I arrived at Kryal Castle my eyes were STUNNED cause it looked AMAZING. When we got to the front there was an actual working DRAWBRIDGE.  We went to a place called THE ABBEY, we put all of our luggage there and ate. We were also excited because we got to know who was in our rooms. After that we did activities. We did Medieval dance, Shield making and History of Kings, Queens and Royalty back in those days. At around 6:30pm or 7:00pm we went to the Jesters Theatre and got to watch three plays.  They were all equally funny.

THE ROOMS

There is not much to say about the rooms because all I can describe them as is STYLISH, MODERN, COMFY and AMAZING.

THE NEXT DAY

In the morning of the second day, we got to play around the castle. At the castle we ate breakfast at around 8:30am. Then we went back to the rooms and got our teeth brushed and then went back to do fun activities. The activities were Apothecary, Leather working and Medieval Court. After that we had lunch and then we went to our rooms again. Then after like 30 minutes we got to have free time. We went into the maze again and did very fun things around the castle, and ate dinner.

HOW Was KRYAL CASTLE?

Kryal Castle was amazing and fun. There were so many things to do and I never got bored . My favorite part was when I did an activity called SIEGE. We got to break a wall with a BATTERING RAM . There were other activities like SWORD FIGHTING, ARCHERY, LEATHER WORKING and more fun activities.

I can't wait to get back to KRYAL CASTLE again.
